Job Overview

Jensen Hughes is seeking a Senior Engineer for our Manhattan and/or White Plains, New York offices with experience in fire alarm systems, mass notification systems, fire department communication systems and/or fire suppression system in the New York City market. We are a leading fire protection consulting firm providing a range of professional services involving life safety, fire alarm, fire protection, security and mass notification on a wide variety of projects across the U.S. and internationally

Responsibilities

We are looking for highly motivated, experienced individuals to work in all aspects of fire protection engineering, including fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and fire protection strategies. As a member of our team you will:

  • Plan and direct design activities for your own projects.

  • Design fire alarm and mass notification systems.

  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, design drawings and presentations.

  • Mentor and collaborate with other local team members

  • Review design and construction submittals for compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Perform site surveys to inspect and evaluate building features and systems.

  • Interface with authorities having jurisdiction.

  • Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and others.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in code consulting and/or fire protection system design services

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or higher, preferably with a focus on Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • PE license or EIT required.

  • Ability to mentor staff and interface with clients

  • Demonstrated project management capabilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Demonstrated capabilities in professional service business processes

National Pay Range

$120,000—$175,000 USD
